Hortofruticola Sudamericana exports Maroon Chestnuts from south of Chile all over the world
Maroon variety is characterized by an external brown-brown color and thick skin and inside a light-yellow color with a tender sweet flesh.
But its biggest characteristic is that when roasted their skin comes off easily because internally it does not have deep folds, which makes a big difference with another rustic varieties.
Marron Chestnuts are original from Persia but in Italy and France has been grown for centuries, in Chile we rescued the most European traditional varieties becoming in one of the largest chestnut producers in South hemisphere
